As I mentioned in my post of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, I am re-reading all seven Harry Potter books! The series is one of my favorites and while I have listened to the audiobook series a couple of times, I have never read the books through a second time.
Instead of reviewing the book, I wanted to bring up a couple of notes that I read and heard that are interesting, if not controversial.
First, I heard that Chamber is considered the worst of the seven books. While I am confident that is true, it is definitely amazing that a book of that quality is the worst of them all. For me, the other books that would be in consideration are Sorcerer’s Stone and Prisoner of Azkaban. At least I am pretty sure. I haven’t read Azkaban in a while, so it should be a refreshing experience.
Second, there is a clear MAJOR blunder/hole in the plot in Chamber. Harry was stabbed with the basilisk fang. The diary is pierced and everything basically blows up, but when Harry gets stabbed, nothing happens. He gets the help he needs and there you are. Apparently, JK’s response is that Harry would have had to die. I don’t buy it. I am also trying to write non-specific, so if you don’t understand what I am saying, read Harry Potter and come back here. If you have read the story and still don’t understand, I am sorry. My wife feels your pain.
Anyway, which Harry Potter book is your least favorite? Tell me!
