“Jesus says that he expects we will lose partners and children and houses in the process of conversion, that conversion calls everyone to lose everything. God’s people need to wake up to something. If you want to share the gospel with…anyone who will lose family and homes, the gospel must come with a house key.”
My most recent book is The Gospel Comes with a House Key by Rosaria Butterfield and it was one of the best books that I have read all year. As you read, it is clear that the Butterfield’s live life differently than most. Many of their days are spent sharing their dinner table with many families throughout their neighborhood and sharing their lives as well.
It was refreshing to read Rosaria’s perspective. She did not hold any punches. She stated when things were hard. She mentioned situations that were more than just difficult. And as she discussed them, she did not really diminish the pain and difficulty either. However, she also pointed to why it was worth it and how you can start to do it too. She also shared about how she was loved by others and how that changed her life.
I am giving this book a 5/5. Not only was the content excellent, she writes beautifully, while maintaining the sharpness and urgency of her arguments. As you can tell, I really enjoyed it.
If you desire to share the gospel with people, the real gospel of Jesus Christ, then remember—it comes with a house key.
